Discover (You)r History Family Collage Activity
Embark on a creative journey into your family’s past with the Discover (You)r History Family Collage Activity at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning. On May 9, 2024, families with children aged 10 and under are invited to participate in a hands-on collage-making session led by the talented Tett Artist in Residence, Meenakashi Ghadial. This unique event allows participants to bring their cherished family photographs, which will be safely photocopied for use in the workshop. Through engaging prompts and discussions, children will have the opportunity to learn about their ancestry while adults can reminisce and share stories about the memories captured in the images. The session culminates in creating a collaborative family collage, providing a tangible piece of art to take home and treasure.
This workshop not only fosters family bonding but also serves as a creative platform for exploring personal and collective history. Meenakashi Ghadial, a visual artist with a rich background in representational oil painting and an interest in themes of marriage, love, intimacy, and queerness, will facilitate the session. Her expertise will guide families through the artistic process, ensuring a meaningful and reflective experience. The event is part of the Tett Artist Residency program and is available on a sliding scale from $5-$20. Don’t miss this chance to create art with your loved ones and uncover the rich tapestries of your family’s history. Register today to secure your spot in this limited-capacity event!
