Free Big Band Concert Celebrating Women’s History Month!
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Limestone Jazz Collective (LJC) is bringing an extraordinary evening of live music to Kingston! Sponsored by the Musicians Performance Trust Fund (MPTF) and the Union of Professional Musicians AFM Local 518, this free show will pay tribute to the trailblazing women of Jazz. Featuring the powerful sounds of an 18-piece big band and three incredible femme vocalists—Savannah Shea, Jasmine Woboditsch, and Atiari—this is a night not to be missed.
The concert will highlight iconic jazz standards by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Etta James, Julie London, and The Andrews Sisters, as well as shine a spotlight on the works of lesser-known composers and bandleaders such as Mary Lou Williams and Chelsea McBride. Expanding beyond jazz, the night will also feature music from legendary artists like Joni Mitchell, Laura Nyro, and Linda McCartney.
