Conventions and events in Canada are where it’s at – whether you want eSports or meditiation, Canada has it all. There are so many events on the calendar in 2025 that we don’t know where to start. What we will say is that you should definitely put one or two in your diary.
Below, we’ll look at the top conventions in Canada (the more fun ones, not business) and why we think you should attend.
Peterborough Comic Con
Dates: Several in 2025
Location: Peterborough, Ontario
Comic Con is worldwide. Annually, the event, no matter where it is, attracts thousands of people at each event, generates millions in revenue, and, above anything, it’s absolutely epic.
We’d say it’s a family-friendly convention that still packs a punch. It has everything anime you could wish for. With multiple events hosted throughout the year, this event is fantastic for comic book aficionados, toy collectors, and cosplay enthusiasts – you will definitely see some crazy cosplay and we encourage you to get involved! Expect a range of vendors and exhibits featuring comic books, action figures, and custom-made art pieces.
The casual atmosphere makes it a hub for networking. Not necessarily business to business, but people to people, personally. We’d recommend going to the conventions held in February or June at the Peterborough Curling Club. But if you can’t make those, we’d recommend finding another or even traveling to another city in America to find one. There are hundreds of Comic Con events annually.
Canada Gaming Summit
Dates: TBA, 2025
Location: Ontario, Toronto
The Canadian Gaming Summit (CGS) is the place where the best online casino developers, gamers, and software providers come together to see how they can change online casinos. Location: Delta Hotels by Marriott at Toronto Airport or Toronto Congress Centre.
If you love anime, you have to go to an anime event. It’s similar to Comic Con, but the vibe is slightly different. Comic Con is everything: comics, anime, and gaming. Anime North is everything anime. Most people regard it as one of the most esteemed and adored anime conventions where fans from all around Canada and even the globe come to witness and celebrate the most unique take on Japanese culture. Even people travel from Japan to attend!
This event spans three days and includes anime, manga, and gaming-based activities. Specifics include events like cosplay competitions, gaming competitions, and merchandise stools.
We also love that Anime North organizes seminars for young artists and writers, presents AMV contests, and holds karaoke parties. In our opinion, the karaoke parties are the most fun!
Fan Expo Canada
Dates: August 21 to August 24, 2025
Location: Metro Toronto Convention Center, Toronto
Fan Expo Canada is one of the biggest highlights. Tens of thousands of people travel each year for the event, and 2025 promises to be no different. It is a great compilation of all the essentials: comics, games, horror, anime, and sci-fi. The lineup in 2025 should include A-list celebrities, big-time comic book artists, and famous gaming personalities – full details of the event aren’t out yet, but people are speculating.
This building is an exhibitor classic with exclusive and vintage goods and items on sale, ideal for both fans and collectors. A variety of fan panels, photo shoots, and autograph signing events are also organized at Fan Expo.
Furnal Equinox
Dates: March 21-23, 2025
Location: Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto
This one is a bit niche, but sometimes niche is good. And if this is your thing, then Furnal Equinox should be your go-to event.
It’s basically an event all about furries.
Determined to create anthropomorphic art, culture, and more of its people, the event is a combination of several enthusiastic participants covering all aspects of the fandom. Visitors can expect extravagant shows of fursuits, live musical events, exhibitions, and master classes and lectures on fursuit character creation, crafting, and community-oriented issues – literally all of it is related to fur.
What makes Furnal Equinox unique is its charity orientation. Every year, the amount collected at the convention goes to a new organization. Even if you are unfamiliar with the furry culture, there are facets of the fandom you will find welcoming. And everyone is super friendly!
