Join us for an out-of-this-world evening of science, storytelling, and stargazing fun at Astronomy on Tap: Kingston, hosted in the Living Room of The Mansion (506 Princess St, Kingston) on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, starting at 6:30 p.m. This free and engaging event brings together curious minds and cutting-edge researchers in a casual, welcoming pub atmosphere.
Hosted by local astro-buff Nik Arora, this edition features three dynamic scientists from Queen’s University at the forefront of astrophysics and astroparticle physics:
Ken Clark – Discover how the foundational principles of physics continue to unlock surprising new discoveries.
Brian Krar – Learn how researchers are using a facility 2km underground to study the Sun!
Sarah Sadavoy – Dive into the long-standing sci-fi showdown: Deep Impact vs. Armageddon – which film gets the science right?
Expect fascinating talks, a lively Q&A session, and the chance to mingle with scientists in your community. Best of all, you don’t need a PhD to attend! This event is designed for a general public audience – just bring your curiosity and maybe a notepad for the epic trivia session!
