The City of Kingston will celebrate National Health and Fitness Day for the first time on June 2nd as a day to motivate and encourage Canadians to get up and get active!
Displays, fitness demos, music and presentations will be part of the free event, which will take place at Confederation Park on Saturday, June 2, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There will also be an ‘Open Doors’ initiative, where facilities in Kingston will essentially ‘open their doors’ and provide the opportunity for residents of Kingston and area to become more aware of the facilities and programs that offer physical activity in their community, and to access them free of charge on National Health and Fitness Day.
Queen’s School of Kinesiology and Health Studies will host the “Education Hub” of the National Health and Fitness Day with scheduled public lectures and information booths to promote health for all ages.
Select Kingston restaurants will join the celebration and highlight featured healthy menu items.
