If you have pets – one thing you need to know is how to take care of them in the result of an injury or a medical issue.
The Kingston Humane Society, the Princess Animal Hospital and the Downtown Animal Hospital are teaming up to help you do just that – a pet first aid course which will help you with the initial treatments for common injuries or emergencies.
The focus will be on dogs but there are also recommendations for exotics and cats.
Just some of the topics they will be covering are allergic reactions, bleeding, broken bones, heat stroke, seizures, artificial respiration and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
It takes place Sunday, November 8th at the Ongwanada Auditorium located at 191 Portsmouth Avenue.
It is from 3pm to 6pm, and it costs $50. Proceeds to go the Kingston Humane Society and a first aid kit for your pet will be included with that.
To register you can visit the Humane Society at 1 Binnington Court, or call them at 613-546-1291, Extension 106. Credit card registrations over the phone – debit, cash or credit card in person.
