The special “Grand Opening” event of the Repaire Cafe Kingston takes place on April 8th, 2018.
This is a neighbourhood initiative, and is hosted by the Kingston Unitarian Fellowship.
As opposed to tossing items out, it promotes repairing them as an alternative. Volunteer fixers will assist you and teach you to repair toys, furniture, clothing, jewellery, bikes, electronics and much more.
For the grand opening there will be special repair demonstrations throughout the afternoon. It begins at 2pm with a short opening ceremony featuring the Town Crier, as well as Mark Gerretson (MP), Sophie Kiwala (MPP) and Bryan Paterson (Mayor).
This is entirely volunteer-run and voluntary donations are welcome.
