The Social Planning Council of Kingston and District (SPCK&D) is pleased to announce an upcoming Tenant Community Meeting, which will provide a unique opportunity for tenants and advocates to connect, share experiences, and develop collective strategies for preventing eviction and displacement in our community. As we are all aware, the current climate for tenants in Kingston is challenging, with landlords seeking to displace residents from their homes and neighborhoods at an unprecedented rate. It is therefore imperative that we come together as a community to tackle this critical challenge head-on.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 10th from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Extend-A-Family Kingston venue, located at 361 Montreal St. Attendees will be treated to a delicious dinner and refreshments while engaging in meaningful dialogue with fellow tenants and advocates. Throughout the evening, participants will have the opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences, explore innovative approaches for preventing displacement, and identify ways to support one another during this difficult time.
We believe that housing is a fundamental right, and that it is our collective responsibility to ensure that all members of our community have access to safe, affordable, and secure housing. We therefore invite tenants and advocates from all walks of life to join us for this important event. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible, and registration is free of charge. Please RSVP to reserve your spot via email at spckingston00@gmail.com or through Eventbrite.
We urge you to join us on May 10th for what promises to be a powerful and inspiring event. Let us come together as a community to tackle the critical challenge of preventing eviction and displacement, and ensure that all members of our community have access to the safe, affordable, and secure housing they deserve.
