One of the thousands who didn’t get tickets to the Tragically Hip? Then the next best thing – or maybe even the best thing – is happening in Kingston when the band plays just 1500 feet away.
Springer Market Square is being taken over with a FREE Tragically Hip Party. Multiple screens will be set up around the square to air the Tragically Hip Concert with a great sound system, and surrounding streets are expected to be closed off with potentially 10,000 people in Market Square.
It’s going to be a busy time but an amazing time and there will be free bus service after 4pm, as well as the express service being extended.
So if you’re not able to get to the concert be sure to head to Springer Market Square for this amazing event.
Note: No alcohol will be permitted at the event. You will also not be permitted to bring folding chairs or camp. It’s recommended not to bring strollers due to how large the crowd will be. Many streets downtown will be closed. There IS an accessible area which features chairs as well as accessible washrooms, and accessible parking close to that area.
As far as we know there will be no vendors, food or otherwise so bring your own food. Be sure to bring a water bottle as the Utilities Kingston water buggy will be there and you can refill your water there.
There will be port-a-pottys on site.
