Kingston Pen Tours Presents Pumpkinferno

Kingston Pen Tours is thrilled to announce the return of Pumpkinferno for its second thrilling fall season! From September 27 to October 30, 2024, Kingston Penitentiary will be transformed into a mesmerizing autumn wonderland, showcasing over 7,000 hand-carved artificial pumpkins in an enchanting display of light and creativity. This family-friendly event is a must-see in Kingston, featuring five brand-new exhibits alongside fan favorites from previous years.

As night falls, visitors will be captivated by 13 stunning pumpkin sculpture exhibits set against the historic limestone walls of Kingston Penitentiary. New exhibits for this year include the whimsical Timber Trail, a lively collection of trees; the vibrant Clown Town, filled with happy, colorful clowns; Mercury in Retrograde, a tribute to the legendary band Queen and lead singer Freddie Mercury; the eerie Jack’s Lair, with jack-o’-lanterns lining the entrance of the penitentiary’s shop dome; and the mouthwatering Mega Munchies, celebrating everyone’s favorite snacks. These exhibits, along with returning classics, create a magical atmosphere that will delight visitors of all ages.

About Pumpkinferno:

Originally launched at Upper Canada Village over a decade ago, Pumpkinferno has become an award-winning event renowned for its stunning artistry and captivating displays. The pumpkins at Pumpkinferno are meticulously designed and carved by a talented group of young artists from Eastern Ontario, who begin their work each spring. Using realistic artificial pumpkins molded from real pumpkins, these artists create incredible displays that bring the magic of Pumpkinferno to life.
