Loving Spoonful and Farmers Market Block Party
Kingston, get ready for a new community celebration! Loving Spoonful and the Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market (MCFM) are thrilled to announce the Block Party, happening on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Memorial Centre (303 York St.). This exciting event, replacing the popular Night Market, promises to bring even more energy and fun to your market day, all centered around a love for local food.
The Block Party will feature live music and dancing throughout the day, with DJ THIRDPLACE spinning from 9:00 to 11:30 AM, and DJ LK taking over from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Market-goers can enjoy their favorite local vendors, enhanced with festive flair, while participating in grassy area activities like dance parties, cooking demos by Loving Spoonful, and educational activities highlighting the local food system. Classic community games will keep everyone entertained, and special prepared food items from MCFM vendors will celebrate the best of Kingston’s local food scene. Don’t miss the garlic and 50/50 draw fundraisers at the Loving Spoonful Market Stall, supporting initiatives to build community and improve access to local food.
