Skeleton Park Arts Festival
Join us in celebrating the 19th anniversary of the Skeleton Park Arts Festival, a beloved annual summer solstice celebration taking place during the June 22 & 23 Summer Solstice Weekend. This free, family-oriented event is hosted in McBurney Park and the surrounding neighbourhood, offering a rich array of activities and performances for all ages. This year’s festival features an impressive lineup of headliners, including the JUNO-nominated group Kobo Town, the Anishinaabe-Canadian alt-rock band Status Non Status, Kingston-Iranian Santur player Sadaf Amini, reggae band The Human Rights, alt-country singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge, and the Undertow Brass Band, who will lead the annual Porch Jazz Parade through the Skeleton Park neighbourhood. The Department of Illumination will also be leading family activities in the park, including a giant boxtopia pirate ship!
Saturday and Sunday’s programming will feature local food vendors, community organization information booths, and the new partner arts organization, The Fat Goose Collective, which will manage the Artisan Market from 10 am-5 pm on both days. To support SPAF’s year-round programming, including the popular free community newspaper, The Skeleton Press, please consider making a charitable donation via Canada Helps on the festival’s website. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a grassroots, multi-disciplinary art experience that brings the community together on the summer solstice weekend and throughout the year with various pop-up events.
