Snow in Midsummer: The Silence
Snow in Midsummer: The Silence – A Journey Through Light, Shadow, and Silence
Prepare to be captivated by a theatrical masterpiece that speaks volumes without uttering a single word. Yu Theatre Society proudly presents Snow in Midsummer: The Silence, an experimental mime adaptation of Guan Hanqing’s The Injustice of Dou E. This evocative production runs from January 13 to January 18, 2025, at the Baby Grand Theatre, Kingston Grand Theatre.
Through the powerful mediums of pantomime and shadow performance, Snow in Midsummer: The Silence tells the tragic tale of Dou E, a young woman unjustly condemned in the Yuan Dynasty of China. As Dou E’s soul narrates her harrowing story, the silence speaks louder than words, exposing themes of oppression, corruption, and resilience.
