The Great Canadian Cheese Festival

After an eight-year hiatus, The Great Canadian Cheese Festival is making its much-anticipated return—this time at the historic Fort Henry in Kingston, Ontario! Taking place over two delicious days on May 24–25, 2025, this national celebration of Canadian cheese will bring together more than 100 artisanal cheesemakers and dairy producers from across the country.

From award-winning cheddars to bold blue cheeses and creamy bries, this family-friendly festival offers something for every palate. Expect tutored cheese tastings with beverage pairings, hands-on children’s cheese-making activities, wine and craft beer vendors, live music, professional development sessions for culinary professionals, and the opportunity to explore Fort Henry’s historic grounds.

Organized by Patricia McDermott, owner of Agrarian Market in Prince Edward County, the festival is more than just a cheese lover’s dream—it’s a heartfelt celebration of Canadian dairy, community resilience, and the power of choosing local. “Buying Canadian cheese encourages innovation, supports farm families, and keeps our dairy sector strong,” says McDermott.
